ECS-IITM Student Chapter

The ECS IIT Madras Student Chapter was founded in October 2022 with a focus on skilling college students on required electrochemistry knowledge to take up research in electrochemistry-related areas such as batteries, fuel cells, sensors, electrodeposition, corrosion, electrosynthesis etc. The chapter regularly organizes workshops, lectures, and industrial visits, connecting students with academia and industry experts. Faculty advisors include Professors Kothandaraman Ramanujam, Raghuram Chetty, Ramanathan S, and Raman Vedarajan. Notable events include workshops on batteries, biosensors, and electrochemical energy storage. The chapter was awarded the "Chapter of Excellence 2023" by ECS.
ECS IITM Student Chapter aims to inculcate fundamental knowledge of electrochemistry amongst the populace through theoretical lectures and hands-on applications. Since its inception in 2022, the ECS IITM Student Chapter has directly benefited more than 1000 students
